The fourth game of the five game stretch of the week was against longtime opposition Nichols School from Buffalo. A great start for the Blues allowed call up Josh Chan to pot a beautiful backhand goal in the first period. Following that, a beautiful passing play allowed PJ Boujouves to pot his first regular season goal with the assist coming from Josh Chan and Dante Rienzo. Nichols responded to the Blues’ fast paced and physical play with a goal in the second. However, the goal did not shift momentum as the creative and capitalizing line of Josh Chan, Dante Rienzo and PJ Boujouves scored the third goal for the Blues and for their line coming from Dante Rienzo where a beautiful passing play within the zone allowed an easy tap in. As the Blues did not take their foot off the gas, neither did the opposition where they score two goals in the third period to tie it up. At that point, it was a hard fought battle from both sides to defend their zone and keep a goal out of their net, while trying to capitalize on many opportunities in the offensive zone to put them up. Sadly, a goal was not scored for the Blues in the third to get the win and the same result was for their opposition as the game was tied 3-3 after 3. Coach Beaudoin was happy with the efforts from the boys but is never content with a loss or a tie as they are treated equally in both his mind and the teams. The next game against rival St-Mikes college will be a testament to the will of the boys to bounce back after a hard fought battle where the play does not resemble the score.
