On a sunny but windy afternoon, UCC headed to Ridley College to keep the win streak alive and further solidify their position atop the standings.  The game started off with a flurry of scoring chances and UCC went up 1-0 on a corner kick that saw the ball fall right to the feet of Sam Pickersgill.  Ethan Williams followed it up with another goal inside the 6 yard box to make it 2-0.  The pressure continued and Colin O’Dwyer and Zain Assaf netted 3 goals each before the end of the half to build a comfortable lead of 9-0.

In the second half UCC continued to push the ball around and worked on their passing and spacing and James Moffat worked hard to get on the score sheet to make the score 10-0.  Despite the score, Ridley College did not give up and they deserve credit for playing hard right until the end of the game.  The game finished with this score line to earn a clean sheet and UCC continued their strong run of results by clinching first place in the league with one game left to go.

Congratulations to the boys.  Next game vs RSGC to hopefully close out the season on a winning note

On a rainy Monday afternoon, UCC closed out the regular season against RSGC.  The game started off slow with very little being created from both teams.  Zain Assaf once again used his hustle and hunger to get the go ahead goal and put UCC up 1-0.  UCC struggled to get things going and controlled much of the possession, but a beautiful passing play sprung Ben Atkinson free to put the ball passed the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 at half time.

The second half was a different story with many scoring chances.  Ethan Williams and James Moffat added to the score line with clinical finishes in front of goal.  After missing a penalty, Arbaaz Ebrahim was successful in heading in a goal after Zain Assaf smacked it off the crossbar.  At the end of the game, Alfonso placed a beautiful shot into the top right hand corner to make it 6-0.  James Moffat ended things with a stop of the ball and strong finish to make the final 7-0.  Strong defensive effort once again this game and many thanks to both of our keepers for keeping the clean sheet in some difficult playing conditions.

Next Thursday is the semi-final play-off game with home field advantage.  Hope to see everyone out to support the boys in their pursuit of the championship

Thanks again to all parents and families for their support
