The Varsity Blues kicked off their first home exhibition game against Blyth with a very strong start. The boys were eager to get their feet moving and it was evident that they were hungry for a win from the first puck drop. Two goals in the middle of the first period gave the blues some breathing room, but the pace never faltered. As the period ended the Blues remained discipline going into the second period, ready to add more goals  to their lead. Two more quick goals in the second and the third allowed the Blues to focus on their defensive game and proved to be the clincher as they were able to keep Blyth to only one goal all game. Strong offensive presence in Blyth’s zone is what led to the lead, but strong defensive presence in our zone and strong goal tending is was solidified the Blues’ first season victory, with many more to come!
