SAC 46 for 8 (30 0vers)
UCC 47 for 2 (11.5 overs)
UCC won by 8-wickets
Upper Canada College secured a convincing 8-wicket win at St. Andrew’s College, on May 27, to claim a shared CISAA Championship with Trinity College School and thus retain the trophy they have held for the past two seasons.
Having lost the toss and been asked to field first, UCC produced a disciplined display of bowling and fielding to limit the defence-minded SAC to 46 runs in their 30 overs. Faiz Khwaja (2 for 2), Akash Kennedy-Ganesh (2 for 9), and Karman Cheema (2 for 6) all picked up two wickets and were well backed-up by the now-characteristic high quality of fielding.
In reply, Rob Dean (16) and Lachlan Rigby (5) made a solid start to UCC’s innings, before Josh van Marken (7 not out) and Faiz Khwaja (2 not out) saw the visitors home with more than half of the available overs remaining.
