The volleyball squad is always considered a favourite going into the championships of the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA). UCC has blocked and smashed its way to 10 titles in the last 15 years, and the varsity and Under 16 teams have qualified a number of times for the provincial title.

Varsity play – under experienced coaches who provide team and individual feedback – set up many talented UCC players for success at the collegiate level. Our boys have played volleyball at U.S. and Canadian universities in competition governed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Some have even played for Canada’s national junior team. One former player, Jesse Mighton ’02, played professionally for Lithuania in the Baltic Shenker League.

Inter-school volleyball competition starts in Grade 7 at the Prep with an Under 14 team. Boys can try out for the Grade 8 Under 14, Under 16 and varsity volleyball teams at the Upper School.
