Tennis teams at UCC have served up lots of Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) titles. The varsity squad has won the gold medal at CISAA 22 out of 25 times, most recently in 2015. In that same year, the Upper School’s Under 14 team also captured CISAA gold, while the Under 14 team from the Prep aced the silver medal.
The Under 16 tennis team has also been victorious, most recently in 2013 when the team went undefeated.
In inter-school competition, UCC is represented by 72 boys on six teams made up of singles and doubles players. It’s not uncommon for UCC boys to be ranked provincially and even nationally. Top-level instruction is provided at UCC’s expansive facilities, which include six hard courts, two under a bubble for year-round hitting.
UCC also gives boys opportunities to play matches against top players in the U.S. and internationally. The senior tennis team travels to New Jersey each year and plays the varsity team from The Lawrenceville School. UCC also arranges occasional tennis tours in which UCC boys travel for competitive matches to such countries as Australia and Japan.
