The U16 badminton team competed at the CISAA championships Wednesday at Crescent. Noah Menikefs had the hardest assignment of the day, playing in the first singles draw. In a close match, the UCC boys lost to TFS 3 games to 2 on Monday evening. It was the second match of the day for the team. U16 Badminton Tops DeLaSalle College

The U16 team won their penultimate game of the year today, beating De La Salle 4: 1. The doubles team of Josh Dyer and Eugene Ye won their game handily, as did first doubles team of Joseph Wu and Ryan Qin. Nick Cai made a strong start in third singles, winning in 2 sets. Mathew sun did well in second singles. Noah Menikefs played a great game, ultimately losing 23-21 in the third set.

U16 Badminton Team Loses To Crescent

The U16 badminton suffered a defeat to Crescent’s team on Tuesday. With several starters absent due to commitments at Norval and injury, we fielded a depleted team. U16 Badminton comes close in first game

The U16 Badminton headed to SAC for their first game today. Joseph Wu and Ryan Qin, along with David Zhou and Nick Cai were successful in their doubles matches. Michael Sun lost a close match in 3 games, while Sean Lizzola and Noah Menikefs lost their singles matches against some tough opponents. All are looking forward to our two matches next week.

The U16 badminton team lost a tough game to top ranked Crescent school by a score of 4 to 1. Andy Wang and Shafiq Qaadri lost to some young, yet highly athletic and experienced singles players in first and second singles. The U16 badminton team won its first match of the year, beating St. Andrew’s 3:2 on April 22. Well done!

The U16 badminton team lost their first game of the year, falling 3 matches to 2 to St. Mike’s. While first singles Andy Wang, and second singles, Shafiq Qaadri won both their matches, Sharavanan (third singles) and our first doubles team of Joseph and Dustin, both lost to excellent opponents. In a tough, close, rubber match, the second doubles team of Conrad Dingle and Matthew Sun lost narrowly, 22-20, and 21-18.

The U16 badminton team continued their recent trend of playing well yet losing by the smallest of margins as they lost their third close game today by a score of 3:2. Once again, our first (Andy) and second (Sharavanan) singles won their matches easily. Matthew lost a close game in third singles, while Dustin and Joseph (first doubles) and Noah and Matthew (second singles) also lost in well played matches.
