Match Photos Upper Canada College vs St. Michael’s College in the CISAA Championship; two neighbours, long-time rivals and the teams with the two best records in the Senior Boys First Division this season. Nothing could have been more appropriate. Even the weather co-operated, as the game was played on a cool, clear, sunny afternoon on the UCC Oval. The only other meeting between these two titans this year was our first game of the season, Read More

Blues defeat AC to secure berth in CISAA finals!

It was cool but the sun was peaking out over the UCC home turf when the Blues took to the pitch to face Appleby College in the CISAA semi-final. Perfect “ football” weather! The AC squad lined up in a new defensive formation with Read More

Sat Oct 27: UCC at HSC final season game and road trip

Despite the 8:00 am, bleary-eyed bus departure and the drizzling autumn rain on the condensation-covered, school bus windows, our vision was clear and focused: the Varsity Blues had our sights set on an undefeated, regular season record. Our opponents, Hillfield Strathallan College, would be a difficult nut to crack, especially on their home field, and we knew they would start strong. Sure enough, the first 5 minutes where challenging, as we took some time to Read More

Blues clinch League trophy with a win over Trinity College School

On a cool but dry Wednesday afternoon the Blues took to their home turf to host the TCS squad from Port Hope. Perhaps it was the “climate change” but the UCC firsts had trouble finding their game while Trinity was keen to give the League leaders a run for their money right from the starting whistle. The Blues recovered and in the 7th minute, Hilli earned a penalty which he converted twice!.. as the first Read More

Blues defeat western neighbors RSGC to keep winning streak alive

On a wet but still warm Monday afternoon the Blues hosted Royal St Georges College. The Squad was extra motivated by a visit from Colin Greening (2004 Golden boot winner and Marlies/Leafs forward ). The Blues got off to a flying start again but not before keeper Faiz Kwaja tipped a hard RSGC shot over the bar in the 10th minute. One minute later, speedy striker Hilli Goldhar half-volleyed from top of the box to Read More

Blues relish a warm Friday afternoon homecoming

Was it the unseasonably warm and sunny weather that continued to linger? Was it the disappointing form we showed against Ridley on Wednesday? Was it the day’s rest that the players had yesterday? Was it the presentation of the CAIS trophy in Assembly that morning or the anticipation of the Steward’s dance that night? Was it the return to our home field and our loyal fans? Or was it the reunion with veteran striker Hilli Read More

Blues earn narrow victory at Ridley College

On an unusually warm and sunny Wednesday afternoon the Blues took the long coach ride to St Catharines to take on the Tigers. The Blues were short several starters and the fatigue from battling to win the CAIS Nationals last week in Vancouver clearly took its toll on the squad. Despite the strong tailwind UCC struggled to get shots on the RC net and their passing was erratic on the sticky natural grass pitch. Captain Read More

Sept. 27/17 BLUES PERSEVERE IN A TOUGH TEST VS DEL Following a stellar performance on Saturday, The Blues took to their home turf on Wednesday to face their closest neighbors DeLasalle College . There’s heat and then there’s heat. There’s the kind of heat you get on a cloudless summer’s day, oddly transplanted onto the first full day of autumn; there’s the kind of heat you feel radiating up from a turf field under a blazing midday sun; and there’s the kind of heat that’s generated by the excitement of a promising, young team, on the threshold of a new season, beginning to develop it’s own, unique chemistry.
